Default Squeaky Rear End >>FIXED!!<<

Okay, I found out what the 'big mystery' is with the rattle in the back. Just returned from the dealer (who fixed mine).

It's the rear lift gate. What is making it happen is that the black 'holders/hatch stops' (look like foam pieces) on each side of the liftgate NEED TO BE ADJUSTED. If you go and look at yours, you will notice that you can move them 'up/down' with a allen wrench (I think that's what the nut is). Mine were all the way to the top, which caused the back latch itself to rattle, because there was not enough 'tension' between it and the liftgate. Wha la--it is fixed! This is really something the dealer needed to do at delivery (hence the reason mine has been 'rattleing' since day one.)

So for those that are 'rattling' in the back this is your problem. If you have any questions let me know. My car sounds soooo solid and tight now--one happy camper now!!

Great to hear yours is fixed and it was an easy problem to cure. I'll be sure to have mine checked out. Still waiting for rear end parts. I'll have them check the hatch when I take mine in for the other repairs. Thanks.

Dont let that rattle go on for to long or you may find a ding in the paint where the hatch has been hitting the body.

I experience same problem, rattle coming from the rear, at a high speed. Where should the foam pads be positioned on the tailgate? The Middle? Towards the bottom?

I didn't see any "foam" stops unless I'm missing something. There are two "rubber" stops, one on each side of the hatch at the bottom. They can be adjusted up and down about inch.
