Default Long cranking time

Hey guys, first post! enjoy the site, been browsing for a few weeks now. just came in to a 05 Alabaster coupe at an AWESOME price! Had my fingers in to a LS! FD a few years back as well as a E36 BMW, so I am sure my crossfire will have a promising future!
Well, my problem is the car will sometimes take a few seconds to crank. A mechanic told the current owner that its a "mercedes thing, they can take up to 15 seconds to actually crank"
Doesnt sound right to me... Car is almost out of warranty, and I want t make sure I get it taken care of before time runs up...
Thanks!

You've answered your own question - it's almost out of warranty - take it to the dealer and see what they say.
Mine cranks first time, every time.

I had a very similar problem - sometimes it would start in 2-3 cranks, sometimes it would take 15-30 seconds. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the fuel pump and filter under warranty about 2 months ago. I haven't had the problem since. The fuel pump had to come from Germany, so it took almost a week to get my car back.
