Default Tire popped...bring on the weird noises

Ok so i am new to the Xfire scene, just got out of the whole DSM thing (91 eagle talon Tsi) and i have a couple questions because i dont know anything about the Crossfire (well maybe some), but heres my problem.

I caught a flat the other day and had to drive on it about 1/2 a mile and let the car sit over night until i could fix it in the morning. So i go to a tire place and they sell me a Hancock 255/35/19Y rotational tire for the right rear tire that went flat. Now, i have the Contenentals on the 3 other tires that arent rotational and they are the 19CW not Y as on the Hancock. When i drive over lets say 40 i can feel vibration in my steering wheel and also coming from the back of the car and it gets worse when im on the highway. Is this due to the tire or is there other reasons this can be happening. I just want too make sure that it actually could be the tire before i pay $320 for a new one and i dont trust the dealership because they just want your car out of there. Any thoughts??? Anyone have this problem also???

you should definately not be running different tires left to right...

you need to have at least the same tires on the fronts, and the same tires on the rear.

I agree with the "Z" man above.
By rotational I'm assuming you mean asymmetric?

Regardless, if you're feeling a vibration anywhere from the rear end & the only thing that has changed has been the tire, well, I think it's safe to assume that it's the "new" tire they sold you.

Ask them to score you another Conti just like the one on the other side, have them balance it & take back the Hancook they sold you!

The "W" & "Y" ratings are speed ratings for the tire - the theoretical limit of speed that the tire will do without falling apart; "W" = 168mph; "Y" = 186mph. Since I wouldn't think you'd be doing over 168mph for any length of time I wouldn't worry !

The OEMl Conti's aren't bad but nothing spectacular so as long as you still have some life on the original's might just as well get one to replace the trashed one.

I agree with Kurts. But I've a question or so.

Did this shop not recommend you change out the opposing side?

If not, do you trust them still?

What is the life of all remaining stocks?

Ok so i just got back from the dealership and the damage to the wallet is $1,033 for 4 new tires and alignment plus shop fees (w.e they are). For some reason the Crossfire alignment is $100 more and takes 2 hours to do (not assuming that I need the camber bolts). I decided to just bring it to the dealership, beacuse after I buy the new tires, if i still have the vibrations and rubbing noises they know that they did the work on my car. Had I have brought it to the tire place and still had the same problems, the dealership would have pointed the finger and probably would have told me i should have brought it there. So to avoid more headahes and damaged wallets im just having them fix it. I should be getting the car back before 5 and will post the final result. Thanks to everyone who showed input. Ill be back tonight to post.

That price seems a wee bit high but certainly not out of the ballpark for all 4. I'm assuming you stuck with the Conti's?
Actually, I kinda agree with your thinking though I would've shied away from the dealership. You just KNOW you'll end up paying more but you're probably right about the pissing contest you'd have been in between the tire dudes & the dealership. Sometimes avoiding the inevitable friction is worth a few extra bucks!

Thanks Kurts for the input!!! But yea i just got off the phone with the dealership a little while ago and now their saying that i need the "camber bolts" and they are going to cost extra WTFFFF!!!!! Like $1,033 wasnt enough. On top of it i need to wait until tomorrow for them to order it. They said that it is impossible to do the alignment without them. I might be misstaken but this seems like a little much for f***in tires. So, once again, I will be back to post tomorrow for the FINAL result. thanks to everyone for being patient.

***UPDATE***

Camber bolts, add on $400, so the grand total is $1,433. WOW. I might just give it back to the dealership. Pretty soon their going to say i need new rims too. I must really love my Crossfire huh? Ill be back to post when my baby is back in the driveway.

Moral of the story.... pop a tire and your f**ked.
