amp connector
I want to reattach a loose wire to the 12 pin amp connector. I had a fried amp due to water damage and am trying to reattach 2 red/yellow wires (power) which were coroded. I have to strip and reattach it but not familiar with this connector. It seems that there is some sort of metal that attaches to end of wire which is then pushed into plastic 12 pin connector?
How does wire stay secure?

They are crimp on connectors. There are usually two tabs on the connector that are forced around the bare wire and smashed down with a special tool. There is usually a second set of tabs that crimp onto the wire insulation for strain relief. They are generally not re-usable, but you may be able to dig out the old broke off piece of wire and solder the wire back onto the connector. There maybe a barb tab on the side or top of the connector to allow you to get the pin out of the plastic shell.
Is there any resource for these connectors and or a picture of the actual crimp on pin?
Can I pull out individual wires and see the pin without destroying it?
It seems the water must have reacted with voltage in the 2 power wires and destroyed the pin attached to the wires

If not you will have to buy a new plug and cut the good wires and crimp them onto new terminals. Obviously a socket from a wrecker would have all the terminals locked into position and you would have to splice all your wires to the wires in the plug from the wreckers.
Amplifier part number is: 05136097AA, I will recheck it.

Once the wires are inserted into the plastic connector from the factory, are they designed to be permanent so as never to be removeable?
It sounds like the barb is very difficult to release once in place.
I am thinking of making a modified connection for the 2 wires so i do not have to replace the entire connector. Just not sure how ...

THX FOR THE SUGGESTION - I WILL TRY TO FIND TERMINALS SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT ON AMP AND then CUT OR DRILL OUT THE EXIST. PLASTIC CONNECTOR TO ACCOMODATE THE NEW TERMINALS.
according to local dealer, amplifier part number is #5189332AA but that seems to pull up a 07 crossfire with a price tag of $1800.

I want to connect properly but may have to resort to just a bare wire type fix as dealer does not have a harness fix kit and the male prongs from amp are too small for any generic female connector I can find.
Does anyone have a old harness laying around?
