Default rhythmic vibration

I have an unusual vibration in my 05 Limited. It feels like a balance issue, only it is rhythmic in nature. It happens around 65 to 75 and can be described as "thrum, thrum, thrum......... I know Max had this problem but I could not find the thread to see what the solution was, if any. It is NOT wheels or tires, as I have had new rims and have changed the tires and it is still there. Its in the dealership now and I was hoping with your help I could steer them in the right direction.
Possibly the drive shaft is out of balance? It has recently developed a low speed growl which sounds like the front tires, but they have only been on the car for about 3000mi.

Thanks for you help

possible carrier bearing in the driveline. also maybe a rotor rubbing the caliper?

Im thinking carrier bearing too. Its not the brakes, no pulsation under breaking

Mine is still there, but I have determined that it only happens on certain road surfaces. I have directional-biased tires (Falken FK452's) and reversed the rears and found that the thrum goes away.

I looks to me that the tires "get in sync" every .8-1.2 seconds (speed dependent) and sing together.

I put them back to rotation correct and it came right back. Beats me!

I was hoping you were going to have the magic answer Max. I have P-zero's on the rear of mine now and have had conti's on as well and no diff. I also have gone one size up on the front to 235s to no avail. Its still at the dealership and I gave them my thoughts on the carrier bearing so I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome. I'm not very optimistic.

Lee, those kinds of vibrations can also be in the tranny, bearing going bad, clutch plate, and definetly the drive shaft...haven't bottomed out have you? LOL....oh, and a U-joint can cause those vibrations as well....put her on a lift, move the drive shaft around, push up on it, look at the U-joints, see if there is give in any of them...did you get my address btw....good luck my friend

Well, I talked to Burgin Dodge today and I first want to say that they are bending over backwards to find the problem. I'm very happy with the way they are taking care of me. That said, were at the stage where were throwing parts at it.
I Suggested they look at the drive shaft carrier bearing and it turns out that the parts are not separate and they have to replace the whole assy., The front and rear shafts and the bearing. The part is on the way from Nashville as we speak.
Lets hope this works. I'll keep everyone advised.

I have had the exact same thing Call911......front tires growl at low speeds....thought it might have been wheel bearings....dealer changed front tires. Sound went away...now that I have had tires for awhile and wear on them the sound has came back.???? Also have vibration under brake pedal around 60-75 mph. It's in intervals?????

Mine has done the same thing almost since day one ! I've had it up on a lift shakin and pryin on stuff, new tires, balanced several times, new brakes and rotors and new front wheel bearings. The vibration damper came apart once and I'm thinkin, Ahhh - Ha !!! Replaced the damper and nope, same thrum, thrum, thrum !!! I gave up looking !

Well, they called he other day and said that the shaft was in and I would have it back maybe that afternoon. That was two days ago! Guess that that was not the problem.

I am having this same issue - I first noticed it last year on the way to the Dragon but the car ran so well otherwise that I ignored it. I took it today to have the wheels balanced & was told that all 4 wheels are bent. For the life of me I can't see any bends in any wheels and they don't wobble while I'm driving. Danimal suggested Road Force tire balancing & that is going to be my next step. I REALLY don't want to buy 4 new rims .....

Hey Lee....did you ever get her fixed? I drove the new coupe the other day, and now realize the roadster's steering stabilizer is bad again...I thought it was, now I know....no vibrations from either though...

I just had everything re-balanced a couple weeks ago. It made no difference.

Mine is a vibration between 75 - 85..... before or after those speeds it's barely noticable. No abnormal tire wear or anything...it's the weirdest thing.

I may have the same thing ?? Had the wheels rebalanced...but no change. I'm thinking it's the half worn tires ?? There's no steering wheel vibration really, but kind of an overall sense of something slightly out of balance causing increased road noise in that 60-80 mph range. Maybe the vibration issue is all in my head & it's just increased road noise from the tires. Noted the difference when I realized Fred is much louder than Wilma....

I remember once replacing the Bridgestones on my wife's RAV4 with some super cheap Runway tires & being astounded by how much quieter the vehicle was...ya think 60% worn tires can become much louder?

Can you feel it in the steering wheel? if you can, at all, its a wheel/tire issue
other things to consider.

warped rotor/ stuck caliper
balance shaft could have skipped time (hey its happened)
driveshaft/carrier bearing bad / out of balance
