anyone have any input about the viper system on their car?

 

i love my xfire and i dont want anybody messing with it and so far been thinking about hooking up a viper with remote start on it. just for more protection than the existing alarm.

 

Exactly... I need an alarm system that will notify me when someone is even touching the car... I live on Campus at a University with one of the lowest crime ratings in the US... but I want to know if someone is even bumping into my car! I heard the viper system comes with a LCD screen that tells you if someone is doing almost anything to it.... I'm going to talk to a viper sales rep today and will post more once I know about it !

 

Thanks and pls. do cause I haven't decided on mine yet because circuit city here in Tyler hasn't installed one in a Crossfire yet. I don't want mine to become a guinea pig :twisted:

 

I may go Clifford on mine. But im not going to do it till i put the tv, dvd and the wheels i want.

I already have the tv and dvd but not installed yet.

What make/model TV and DVD did you get? I have been doing some initial investigations, and haven't seen anything I thought 1) Would Fit the size, 2) Would match the silver dash.

I assume seperate units (?) flip up monitor (?) And, are you looking at putting the player in the hole in the trunk or the glove box, or what? Love to see pics when you are done!

 

I know this has been awhile! But I forgot to reply with my car alarm I installed!

I put in a mixture between Clifford / Viper security system... It was done at Altron / Radios ***** Speakers and Things in Michigan... my father knows one of the guys at Altron and he designed some insane system that they installed in it!

The system came with 3 speakers... one in the front of the car hidden in some insanely hard to get to (you would have to remove car parts to get to it), another aiming into the car (so ear piercing it could kill a ground squirrel), and a final one aiming out the rear of the car... The clifford antenna and LCD screen response piece works amazingly with great range! They adjusted the tone of my alarm to be unique only to my Xfire and I can tell my alarm over any other one because of the pitches and sounds... If im correct the decibles (sp?) is set about the legal michigan amount so its insanely loud....

I just wanta suggest these guys to work on car alarms in Michigan .. they are very well-known in my area and did a fantastic job!
