I need help please!!1
Here's my story.
I bought a 2005 Chrysler SRT a little over 2 weeks ago everything was fine the first week car started up and drove perfectly no warning lights, no drive train problems, nothing at all to indicate there was a problem. Then last Friday got in the car to go to work and nothing. Came home from lunch car started right up I drove it for about 20 minutes then parked it. after work tried starting it again and nothing. The car would not turn over, not so much as a click from the starter.
After first getting the battery checked and found it to be good I got on this Forum to see if this is a common problem. I found the thread on "no Start" conditions and I checked the RCM for cracks or breaks in the solder joints and couldn't see any problem(I DID NOT CHECK WITH MAGNIFYING GLASS). After burning up my weekend dealing with this thing I got it towed to the dealer on Sunday.
The dealer finally got back to me today, Tuesday, and informed me that there was corrosion build up on the terminal pins of the PCM and BCM now the corrosion didn't look bad but yes it was there. The dealer mechanic was able to start it but said it died shortly after.
The price to replace these 2 parts is OUTRAGEOUS. . He said he can try cleaning the terminals and see what happens but couldn't promise me the car would start. I need to know 2 things....1: I need to find another reputable mechanic in the Dallas Tx area for a second opinion, and 2 does this sound right or has anybody seen anything like this.
i just bought this car and the CARFAX WAS CLEAN, it only has 20850 miles.
I will take any and all suggestion I JUST WANT TO BE BACK IN MY CAR!!!

Since you have already looked at the RCM joints I'd open the RCM up again and hit the 3 joints with a solder iron just cuz. Then try it.
Lot cheaper than replacing the other parts!
If you want to swap your RCM with the Forum's LRCM I'd have to ask that you send me your RCM first.
No offense but you being new here and all. It took awhile to get this loaner and I don't wanta lose it.
Let us know the status of the fix.
Oh yeah. WELCOME to the Forum!
Sorry yer baby is being a pain at the start. Once you figure this out it'll be all permagrin!

I'm with you DJ..... I would re-solder the pins and try it..... those are big pins and if they didnt get the temp right there could be a couple of issues with connection...
it is easy to do also....
Thanks guys for all the support will go to dealer on lunch and retrieve the RCM bring it back here and see if one of these guys in our repair dept can solder those joints for me. I work for an electronic sign company so all the neccessary equipment is here
