Default How come the Automatic gets better mileage?

Anyone know why?

Also, it seems as though my dads automatic feels a bit different and sounds a bit different. Anyone know any differences here?

Thanks

Probably has to do with the 'intelligence' built into the auto, where it learns and adapts to your driving style.

because you have a lead foot...

just kidding -

Corvette figured this on out... One thing it does to help out - during slow acceleration it makes you shift from 1st gear to forth gear to help on milege. I have been doing it with my crossfire since I got it when I am in bumper to bumper traffic.

hope that save you a couple of bucks...
