Default Sprint booster

I bought the Sprint booster from Motorsport wheel and tire. It is the original non adjustable one for an automatic. I installed it and it did not work at all! I made sure all the conections were installed correctly, and plugged in tight. I re-installed it at least 4 times and nothing worked. I did get the check engine light (low voltage to throttle sensor (or somthing like that) ). I reset it and the stock pedal works fine. I've e-mailed Motorsport but have'nt heard from them yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Also.......if you hot glue a deepwell socket to the washer it comes out easy.

UPDATE:
Recieved new Sprint Booster, it works GREAT! also got my money back for the first one. Wheel and tyre is a good company to deal with. Only problem is that they are in th UK and it takes awhile to ship.

Did you do a throttle reset after installation? You need to do one for it to work.

Hope this helps

Yes, as per below:

1. Turn key to ON (not start) position
2. Press gas pedal to floor(feel little button go click)
3. Hold for 5 seconds
4. Keep pedal to floor and turn key to off
5. Release gas pedal
6. Wait 2 minutes and then start car.

If that didn't work, then I'm not entirely sure. Do you have the BDD451A model? I installed mine this weekend just gone and it worked just fine.

That said - have you made sure that the autobox is not in Winter mode?

Yes, that's what I did. Still nothing. The one I got is BDD451A. I've been trying to contact Motorsport wheel, but have not heard from them as of yet. I'm not sure what else to do.

Was this a refurbished/used one?

Either way, let us know how they respond and good luck with getting this working, everybody I've talked to that has one loves it...I may be looking to get one before too long, but I've got some rock chips and stuff to deal with.

Talking Re: Sprint booster

It would be a bad connection or a damaged connector from them. Look up REALLLL CLOSE at all the socket pins on both ends of the SB to see if all pins look like their neighbor. Woody

I tried everything..... Nothing. I got an e-mail from wheel and tyre and they wanted me to try putting it back to original, wait 30 min. for the ecu to reset and try it again. Still nothing. I'm convinced that it is DEAD. They are sending me a new one and I sent the old one back. I will post a reply when I get the new one.

Not at all true.....I plugged mine in and had immediate results even without the throttle reset.
I did a reset several days later after reading some threads here but with the SB there in never any change with mine.

When I installed mine it required a throttle reset - I can only really comment and offer advice based on my own experiences with the device.

My roadster required me to do several throttle resets, the coupe didn't require any...go figure....but, if there was a check engine light, code, thrown for low voltage on the throttle, then obviously the sprint booster was bad....and I have never heard of this company...I ordered direct from the factory on the roadster...no so on the coupe...bought from a forum member...either way, it should make a difference...so maybe the second one will work...SRT SIX is a trusted dealer if the second doesn't work...get you selectable one from him...

Here it is (I Think) they are out of the UK so shipping takes a little while. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280551419763&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I just bought MuscleFan's sprint booster last night and it does give a lot of low end boost to the throttle. For all of you guys thinking that the manual version if you would like to call it that does not work on automatics don't be mistaken. It works and the boost you get is really different compared to stock. When we first were driving around it didn't seem like a huge change but now that I have been in the car myself driving anything from a dead stop seems to be a lot more powerful in terms of getting the car into the powerband. It's basically like if you had the car stock and pushed the pedal in from a dead stop about 1.5 inches what you feel doing that is what it feels like when you have the sprint booster on and only push the pedal in about a cm. It's hard to explain but everything up to 3k RPMS does increase very much so. This is a great mod but I can see where the price just like everything else for our vehicles can come into play is it worth all the money I would say that really depends on the person. Do you feel a difference VERY much so.

that was always the real argument about the sprint booster was the cost....many can just live with the little hesitation for what it costs to buy one of these little modules...while others, like me, find the hesitation annoying, and would spend the monies to rid the cars of it. People were going to build their own sprint boosters, but that never materialized...

From my reading of the site, I think it was mainly SRT6 owners who thought the Manual SprintBooster was not the best option. It's not that it didn't hook up and "work", it's that it "worked" too well, and so was overly twitchy.

A sprint booster is on my mod "to do" list, but I've got some other stuff still on the list before it ...

It completely is twitchy but that is what makes it so awesome.

I installed a selectable/manual in my base manual coupe today. I really like it. I understand it doesn't change torque or horsepower but it feels like a lot more torque. In traffic my upshifts are smoother too. It seems I don't have to move my right foot as far to get the rpm I want when I am traffic driving. First gear is just slightly twitchy.

My twenty something son helped me install it and that saved my back. Had hell with the washer and could get the magnets to work. I read where someone put hot glue on the end of a deep 10mm socket and stuck it onto the washer. I tried that. It worked just fine after I "unscrewed" the washer with the socket. Removed the kick panel first but we didn't have the grip to unplug the throttle wire connectors.

The Sprint Booster added a lot tp my of enjoyment of the car.

I bought from SRT Six over on the Vendor parts for sale section.
