Default Upsolute Questions

1. Do they have a six speed file available.
2. Where do you notice the most enhanced section of the rev band.
3. Will they do a group buy for us?

Thanks for your consideration,
ChrisG

I have the 6spd and would like the chip as well. A group buy is a really good idea. I am in if it can be arranged.

As far as a group price all I can say is get ahold of them on their web site and ask. www.Upsolute.com .

It sould be the same file they use on the SLK 320 6 speed. They will want to baseline the first 6 speed. Like they did with mine for the auto-stick. What that means is the first 6 speed to get it done will have to go in twice. The first time to have the chip read and the file sent to Austria so Rene and read it and do his magic. He then sends to flash file to your rep. and you go back in and have the new chip files installed.

If you want it Dynoed it's on you to get it done. I'm going out of town this weekend and will be gone for about 3 weeks. When I get back I'm going to get a Dyno run done.

I must have missed something-thought the XFire could not be dyno'd. Did someone figure out how to do it?

Don't places have all-wheel-drive dynoes? I mean, this isn't the only car that needs both wheels spinning.

I've seen aftermarket dynoes of Crossfires, so I don't know why y'all haven't done them yet.

I posted a test I did after I had the car chipped. It had been raining so I did a little test one morning on my way to work on a secluded airfield road. I turned off the traction control and manually shifted the tranny into 1st gear. I power braked it to about 2,400 rpm then let it rip. The rears broke loose and when it hit 6,000 rpm I shift into second and the rear wheels kept spinning and building speed again at 6,000 rpm I shifted to 3rd the wheel spin continued and I got out of it. I never got over about 5 - 10 mph. This tells me that I Dyno run may very well be possible. I never tried it before the chip so I don't know if the chip is what made it possible to hit 6,000 rpm with the front wheel hardly turning..... That's why when I get back I'm taking it to see if it can be done. I've been on a Mercedes forum and they seem to have no problems Dynoing the SLKs as long as they have a fan ramming air into the front of the car.

expect some major drive loss. At least 20% with a automatic/autostick.

Most real 5/6 speeds have a drive loss of 12-15%.

Look forward to the dyno!

Thanks Guys for all the posts!
