Default Vibrating sound from the passenger sub speaker

I thought something inside my right subwoofer was loose as it was sounding bad.

I was digging around that area a few days ago while I was photographing the set up for the illuminated sill plates. I was thinking it must have been the yellow fuse box making the vibration. After alot of pondering, I tried to move the passenger seat forward thinking it can be one of the factor for the odd sound. And buaalaah....I was right..the backseat of the passenger seat was too close to the sub speaker making that odd vibrating sound.

We have had two different CF with 'blown' rear speakers. One passenger, one drivers- Don't know if it is a trend or just dumb luck- but two in one week. (speaker was blown- didnt matter if the seat was all the way forward or all the way back... Very annoying sound.)

I have had an intermittent "rattle" from the passenger sub that sounds like a blown speaker. Both occurrences were on the way to work. Once with no passenger and once with passenger so I doubt the seat was causing the rattle but didn't have time to investigate. Both times the noise was gone when I next drove the car.

Has anyone else had factory subwoofer issues :?:

Try turning the bass up to +9, and listen to the sub with the volume **** at a moderate level. If the sub is blown, you will have no doubt about it then. It will sound horrible.

Sometimes the voice coil (the wire at the base of the cone that the electical current goes through to make the cone move) gets just a little burnt, and the subwoofer won't be completely "blown", but will still sound a bit distorted. That may be why you only notice it sometimes. But I believe this is the rare case, and if you have a subwoofer problem, it will probably be completely blown and be obvious to you when you perform the +9 bass /moderate volume test.

Thanks pelked1
I'll check it as you suggest tomorrow. Suspect it is something else.

I believed that the sound rebounds in the back of the seat causing the sub to get blown off. It happened in my home theater speakers before where my 1000 watt speaker sub is placed within 12 inches away from my solid wood entertainment center. It blew both speakers out!

I have had several problems with my passenger side sub. It makes a POP noise everytime I turn the car on. This pop noise then led to a change of radio, after the radio change the pass. sub blew. I told the dealer that its probaly a bad connec in the amp but they did not heed so I now have another blown sub waiting to be replaced. If this continues I dont want to lemon law the car becase of the radio but electrical problems can only get worse. It seams as problems with the stereo are common in the Xfire. This maybe a easy way out of my lease and into a srt6
