How many Upsoluted Crossfires now?
Rayf, I think that almost all of the Upsolute folks are very knowledgeable and helpful.
I'm going to be up your way in Aug.... We will be visiting some friends at their camp in Stafford. Unfortunately we will be in the Explorer. We need all the cargo space for after my Bride buys one of everything in the Christmas tree Shop.

Hey Boba;
You really have me excited. I drove out to Lanny in Chino Hills, CA, with only 400 miles on my 05 Roadster. He read my chip and told me to come back at 2,000 miles, so any possible kinks in mechanicals would show by that time. I have 700 miles now and can't wait after hearing how much you like the result.

It's Lanny and I just want you know that I have the file for your car anytime you're ready.
Cheers

Just curious about this reading it in process and coming back later? Why is that done with so many chipped Crossfire's out here now? Do you send the stock ECU data to Rene or someone and get it confirmed against other Crossfire stock ECU data? I only ask cuz I went in and got my chipped in one shot (didn't have to "come back later"), cuz my rep got the file before I showed up.
Can you tell us if there have been different revisions (or releases) of the mapping for the Crossfire? I ask here because I believe I was only the second Crossfire Upsolute'd here in the USA (Wes being first), and if Upsolute has been making incremental improvements as they do more Crossfire's I'd like to talk to my rep about potentially having mine done again (if there's more HP to be gained  ).
Thanks for your time.
David,
The reason that some ECU's have to have a read done is that there are different ECU model numbers in various cars (not all cars have the same ECU). Now this can be due to something simple as the manufacturer changing something in the car in mid production and therefore warrants a different ECU to accomodate the changes.
So, since there are various ECU's out there, and each ECU model number requires the file be written for it specifically there could be a possibility that we ahve not yet had a particular ECU in the shop and therefore do not have a file for it yet.
ECU's check themselves upon start-up and if the correct file is not in the car then the immobilizer will not allow the car to start.
The versions are all the same (no revisions yet) just written for the specific ECU.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
Lanny

Do keep us apprised of developments if you don't mind.
0 - 60 on a G-Tech Pro and on a stop watch..... 5.7 seconds. That's with the dreaded auto-stick and torque/power braking to 2,400 rpm before launching the car and grinning my A_ _ off!
MAN THATS SWEET!
... I know im not as highly skilled as WM... so im guessing around 5.8 - 5.9 for mine! but I still can't believe the power the Upsolute chip did to my Xfire!!! It's just incredible and I REALLY recommend it to everyone!!!!
I'm still confused with mine cause I still can't get the 5.9 sec. The lowest I got is 6.5 with ESP on.
I realized that adding 20 HP more ( Upsolute Chip, MagnaFlow Muffler and K&N filters ) is like adding a lawnmower speed in our Crossfire
By the way, does changing the muffler affect the chip program ? Maybe someone can ask Rene 'cause in another forum a chipped Merc loss the programming when he changed his spark plugs.
