But your poll asks where you HEARD about it, not if you have it. :?:  :?:

I figures that with the topic of the thread that only people that had done it would answer. Now that you mention it I guess I should have worded it another way. ops:

I was in contact with Powertech in Rockaway, NJ who nothing about the Crossfire who eventually put me in contact with an individual from Upsolute. He was on the phone with some guy named Sonny and said he would get back with me. I tried calling him back several times with no response. There is also a Powertech in Belmar, NJ which I have not called. I would like to have it done but it seems like they are not that eager for the business.

Sonny is the guy here in Hapton/Williamsburg Va. that did mine. It was the first Crossfire to get the Upsolute chip. I guess you can say I was the guinea pig. Sonny's phone number is 757-876-7734 his email is sonnylowe@upsolute.com If you would like I can talk to him. He's normally very good about getting back to me. You can also go to Upsolute.com and find an Upsolute rep in your area.

Powertech in Rockaway IS a local Upsolute Rep. I was thinking about talking to them too but it sounds like they don't want to be bothered by Chipping a Crossfire. It doesn't say much for Upsolute when their rep's don't want to try to help potential customers. Going to VA is a bit of a drive for getting chipped.

If I were you I would email Rene (he is the eastern regional manager for Upsolute) rberube@upsolute.com. He is located in Charlotte, NC. Tell him that I sent you and tell him about the problem with your local rep. He will bend over backward to help you. He's really a great guy. Remember I was the first and he was super tp work with. He and Sonny both.

To all... There are two Upsolute reps in Northern Virginia. I contacted both. Like you folks in NJ are seeing, not all are as responsive as Wes and I experienced. If your guy is in contact with "Sonny", that's a good sign. They can also get the file from Minh (mntuning@verizon.net or p.pitstop @verizon.net).

I've still never heard from the one closer to my house (Woodbridge), but the guy in Fairfax got back to me next day, got the Crossfire data file from Sonny in a couple days, and I was chipped within a week. Be persistent... IMHO it's worth it. You will FEEL the difference.

The one big question for the upsolute guys I have is, my Crossfire is a manual, would the chip program be different from the one used in your cars? I might be another so called guinea pig?

I think someone with a 6 speed has already been done. But I'm not sure who. But my guess is that it would be somewhat different because of the tranny line pressure and shift point settings for the auto.

xfirejunky... I emailed Rene and here's the email I got back from him....

[Wes, Powertech has just started with us and they are porsche experts so
they are natuarall reluctant to tackle a model they are unfamiliar with.
John Achille is the regional rep for the North east and located in
Belmar, he will definately respond to your associates inquiry.
John's email is jachille@upsolute.com and his number is (732) 681 7666
please feel free to post this.]

Let me know how well he takes care of you. I'm pretty sure that if Rene says this guy will take care of you that's exactly what will happen.

I emailed Rene today to ask about the status of the 'reduced price' upgrade for 10 Crossfire owners. Rene asked if there were 10 firm committments and then said that he would "...distribute the names to the
respective distributors that are closest". I responded that I hoped there were 10 (I am one of them). Let's hope your list of respondents will shortly increase by 10!

I think most people that want to get it done are just going and getting it done.

I need to start another Poll because I didn't do a very good job of wording this one. I was looking for a count of people who ALREADY had their cars chipped. ops:

Give Dyno-Comp a call. They are in Scottsdale and can flash your car's ECU. www.dyno-comp.com

I live in Miami and just traded my 300m for the crossfire. My M was fully modded but I'm a little hesitant to mod the Xfire. But this chip mod is so tempting and there is even a upsolute rep in my area. This car IS leased so my point is is this a trouble free mod?

Sorry, I voted that I heard it on the forum, but I have not had it done yet. If you do another poll, add an option for considering the chip.

I did the same. doh!!

Is there anyone in the UK that has had this chip? If so, where did you get it from? I don't fancy sending my ECU abroad to get it done and not being able to drive the car for a week etc..

Here's the poll I created when we realized this one wasn't very well thought out.
