Default Question about Fan control (Blower)

I am experiencing the weirdest thing with my fan control (blower). When I start my car the heater fan does NOT start up. If I drive at lower speeds, it still does NOT start. Once I get to higher speeds, the fan start. It creeps its way up to full speed and then eventually it runs normal.
I checked for bad fuses, loose wires and shorts, but everything checks out. Can anyone offer some insight into this issue? Similar issue?

do you have it turned up high? I just replaced the blower motor resistor on my 01 sentra, it went bad and had only one speed, full blast

Hi Green.....

It's kind of weird. There is heat but the fan is intermittent. It mostly comes on when I drive fast. After a while of stop and go traffic, the fan stops again.

I know about the resistor issue, and it's really common in GM's. This is weird and I am about to SPEND the big bucks at the dealer.

my fan is flakey too. i usually leave it on low-med but sometimes (very random) it has a mind of it's own. i took it to the stealer while still under warranty - they said they could not duplicate it and they checked the resistor and it checked ok. now out of warranty. anybody know how to change this resister? cost?

Because my fan malfunctioned intermittently, my dealer told me to bring it in immediately as soon as it messed up again. I did, and they were able to diagnose it right away. They replaced the whole fan control under warranty. No problems since.
