Default Pioneer Deh-P9600mp

Upgraded the radio a few weeks ago. Took some shots of it. I'll do a FAQ later.

Pic's can be found here:

Much better sound, hard to tune out, but the auto eq mic included w/ the deck helps out a lot.

Reception has improved, however I hardly listen to the radio anymore due to the MP3 option on the cd side =)

So far 10 complete albums at 192kbps can be fit on one cd! I love it. I also love the way it navagates through the menus. Sub folders of directories for each artist name / album title / track titles.

Check Crutchfield.com. They have this model in their "scratch and dent" for almost $100 off the regular $599 price.

I only paid $389. Yes regular price is $599.

I got it from here:

Hell of a deal. I thought it was wrong or something. Nope, came, shipping was cheap. Total order with shipping cost me $409.99 <funny, same number as my crossfire!

Brand NEW. Not opened, not refeburished!

I put the same radio in my car a few weeks back. I love it. I would also suggest getting an Infinity BassLink. It improves the sound considerably, and it's small. I also had my ipod connected through the aux-in (sold seperately) and xm radio installed as well.

Where did you put the BassLink in the car? Got pictures?

Is this what you got?

Yea, that's what I'm talking about. It is mounted in the trunk. I'll take pictures when I get a chance, probably tomorrow. It really adds to the sound. I like bass, but not bass as in 2 12" subwoofers with 1000 watts to them.. This bass is very punchy, and the Basslink is more than you need in a small hatchback.

I am pretty sure that big hump in the trunk is only being used to house a bandpass sub box which has two ports going behind your seats... I am ok with the amount of lows in the car but would open it up to see what I could fit in there....

did you open this section up so see what all the room was being used for?

The wall behind the seats do a few different things.

- Supports the frame, keep it from flexing
- Protect the gas tank which is at an angle in the rear, part of it is actually inside that wall.
- House the small factory subwoofer speakers
- Make it a pain in the *** to run wires to the hatch area!

I am going down from 2 JL Audio 12w6's to 1. I was still going to power it with my Soundstream Reference 1000, however after seeing that other installation with the amps in the fender, I decided to use a Phoenix Gold amp. It should be fine for one JL. I wish the Soundstream wasn't so big =/

Currently the car is in a million little pieces. The interior that is. It is funny how you have to take off 3 parts just to get at the one you want. To get all the carpet off in the trunk you basically have to start at both doors and work your way back.

I'll take some pictures =)

Hey mightyjlr

I should be getting my basslink today. I am going to be keeping the factory stereo, any idea what the best way to hook up the basslink/location? Post some pics if you have them now.

Thanks

Andy
