Dash kits
Wood trim is fine only when it's from the factory. All these aftermarket kits are horrible for a multitude of sins.
First they break the golden rule of design....Less is More. Just look how busy that interior kit is. Why does every bit of the interior have to be slathered in faux wood? There's no simplicity.
Also the kit is little more than puffy stickers....thin, thin, thin.
Gross.

Like I said - they waste not time marketing this stuff... It has always bugged me that the installed pictures are very small and show no detail as to fit and finish.... Also they have a kit for us but not for the slk... hmm....
I bet we see somoene slap in the "carbon fiber" sticker kit first.... I thought the point of carbon fiber was to mold the whole thing in it to save on weight....

Something other than what is shown "might" look good. A couple of points to consider...
¥ How it looks, as with anything else is a matter of taste, so that is a mute point.
¥ The kit just sticks on top of what's already in place... if you blow the picture up, you still see the original painted surface of the stock trim along the edges of the center console.
¥ How well will the tape hold up, especially here in AZ summer heat?
The company is located in Scottsdale, only a few miles from me. Unless Krusty or someone else here in Phoenix wants to go by and take a look, I'll do it. It won't be for a couple of weeks till after I get back from the Left Coast trip. I'm continuing on farther up the coast and won't be back till a week from this Saturday.... but if no one steps up, I will check on it.

I am more worried about it lifting or crud getting stuck in its edges...
If you are going to check it out then take a look at the aluminum kit for us... the painted surfaces should not look as bad as it would with other trims...
Thanks,

I had some wood trim 3M stick on stuff in my old Lexus LS400. It began to peel slightly by 8 months in the Florida heat. They usually come with a lifetime guaranty, that if that happens they'll totally refund you or give you new trim for free.

Actually I would probably be happy if we could just get metal ***** and switches, and maybe a metal console door top..
Can we get some environmentalists to go out and chain themselves to a few faux trees to make sure that never happens again? This sort of Crossfire abuse has to stop.
We were silent when they used it for side panels on 70's station wagons.
We said nothing when they began using it to cover pressboard on cheap furniture.
Now they're trying to stick their tacky imitation of wood on Crossfires. Is nothing sacred?
It's gone too far. The madness has to stop. One Crossfire has already fallen victim. Don't let it happen to yours.
