Default Sticky Key - Key Won't Turn! Help?

Hey guys,

soo just over the weekend my car was running fine, as soon as i turned it off went inside and tried to start up my car the key was frozen and wouldnt turn, i have read all the post and forums on how to fix it, only problem is- im not very good with cars and to be honest i dont got a grand to get this fixed atm. If there is any one in the Virginia Region that can help me fix this in person i would greatly apperiate it, i would also be willing to give some money if u are able to help me out.

thanks.

This is where putting your hometown in your profile helps.

Just saying...

And if I was closer, I'd be happy to help - fixing mine was mostly easy and certainly fun, just cost $100 for the tow home.

I've noticed the ignition switch in this car can be unusually sensitive to torque from the steering wheel lock. Have you tried turning the wheel slightly and holding it while you turn the key. If you shut the car off with the wheel not completely straight or the car rolled a bit when you shut it off, that may be your problem. This isn't the only car affected by ignition/steering lock torque load but the Crossfire seems more sensitive than most to the problem.

very true, and check that the car definately is in neutral or park and not in drive...
