DRB III or StarSCAN - or both?
Hi you smarter Forum people,
How can I get into computer brains / modules of my Crossfire? Mine is a 2005, leading to one of my questions between DRB III and StarSCAN.
I have borrowed a DRB III for a couple simple things on other cars in the past, so I know some of that tool's capabilities. I know a special card and cable are needed to connect a DRB III to a Crossfire, to open up many adjustment and recorded information sources in the car's electronics. The DRB III was superseded by the StarSCAN tool for Chrysler dealerships with introduction of CANbus on native Chrysler vehicles. But an 'official' site:
http://akamai-public.dealerconnect.c...olRefChart.pdf
shows that the StarSCAN is only for 2007 and 2008 NAFTA Crossfires, all others use DRB III. Is this so, or does the StarSCAN work with other Crossfire cars? Seems reasonable, but sometimes software games are made unreasonable.
Since both DRB III and StarSCAN are now obsolete (or do dealerships HAVE to keep them to service older vehicles?) they seem available on eBay. What do we know and share about necessary hardware and software to use these tools with Crossfire?
Thanks!
Clint
P.S. - Any interest in sharing some of these scan tools within the Crossfire community? Going to a dealer and paying over $100 for to, for instance, register new TPMS senors grinds me.

I feel your pain! ABS-ESP out right now. Most likely a wheel speed sensor which I wouldn't have an issue at all replacing, it's just choking down that 2 min service fee to tell me which one I have a hard time coming to grips with. Waiting for a DRBB III angel to show up.. LOL.
