Boiler that irregular idle is normal for 100 to 200 miles til the computer adjusts.i dont use rtv on the throttle body.i used mercedes gasket sealer ,its a little different, and you must let it sit for 5-8 hours,i usually go to sleep and give it at least one whole night.you must scrape and clean the throttle body allow the gasket sealer to sit for a couple minutes to release gasses.then bout 5 mins later install and bolt, trying not to smear any sealer.tightin bolts to specs or there about.reconnect all.and it should act stupid up to bout 200 miles then youre good.when i did mine i noticed a good increase and took the car to dinner at the olive garden she had a good time so when we left the problem was solved and we were friends once again.

Just curious : what did you order for your car at Olive Garden ? Olive Oil ?

BTW, I went from 68 to 74 mm TB without any apparent issues at all, other then a little better gas milage and slightly improved performance.

I would think the 1000+ miles I put on it would be more than enough to let the ECU learn the new TB. Since it is an intermittent issue, I do not think it is a vaccuum leak, either. Red RTV is gasket maker, IMO same stuff in the MB bottle, just less expensive and readily available.

Thank you for the ideas, just don't think thats the issue.

Is it possible that a connection is loose somewhere or even a bad ground?

When I changed the MAF on the NA there was not even a hiccup.

PS
You owe an apology to MB for the slanderous statement that their parts do not fit together properly. LOL

I will get right on that apology LOL

I have now had 3 mechanics around my area and 5-10 modders at the Dragon all take a look and we can not find ANYTHNG. A bad ground is possible, how would you recommend testing for this?

Since it is intermittent, it has me quite confused. Also, I am not convinced it has anything to do with the TB now, it was just where I started because it was the last mod I had done...

Thanks for sticking in here with me, Dave.

I want to check my A/F ratio, I have a AEM wideband gauge that can emulate an oem sensor. Has anyone tried replacing the oem sensor and emulating it? Will it work with our car or am I going to have to bring it to a shop and have the wideband mounted somewhere else?

Throttle Controller - Wind Booster Power Converter / Electronic Throttle Accelerator - China Throttle Controller,Throttle Accelerator, Wind Booster 4 Mode in Other Car Electronics

Do you mean this?

Send me one and I'll try and critique it for the forum.

TROLL

costs more than a regular Sprint Booster, and shipping charges too.
Chinese copy.

( if I need a wind booster, I just open a can of Bush's Baked Beans )

Kinda hard to run/drive sitting on top of the motor with a hose inserted trying to direct all that "wind"... LMAO

The hose goes through the catch can first for obvious reasons. LOL

Car has not had an issue in days, totally normal idle with no surge.

While I like that it has intermittently gone away, I still need to figure out what it is

Well, after changing a few too many things concerning my intake, I developed this same problem. As a last resort, I removed my SprintBooster and that fixed it. Textbook over-control (oscillation) in a positive feedback control system. I think my throttle response was sharpened during my Eurocharged tune, too.

First thing I did in my testing was remove my SB. Problem was ever-present with the SB completely removed from the car. Now it is back in and I have not had the issue in over a week of daily driving.

This is really starting to annoy me.

DId you have an ECU tune? Ask Jerry if the throttle response has been dicked with?

The only mod I have done to my car is the 74mm tb and I have the same issues.

Well, this just sucks! Went for a drive (~30 miles) and it would idle poorly (surging) occasionally when I slowed to a stop or had to wait for a light. Nearly stalled a couple of times. When surging, it cycles at about 1-2 seconds. Sound similar?

I'll drive it for a week and see, but it IS under MaxCare 'til next year, so it may get a ride to the dealership.

Has anyone else taken their Crossie in to a dealer for this issue? And, if so, what was the fix?
