Default How to Jack Up Front, Jack Pad Missing

Is there any way I can jack up the front right side of my car with the jack pad missing? Because after looking for a replacement jack pad for the front right of the car for a month, I still have no luck finding one on here and I am not going to wait any longer to paint my calipers and rims as the weather is getting warmer. So any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks again guys!

Until you find one, just use the rear jack pad.
2 choices :
1. move it to the front ( they come off easily with the plastic screw )
2. just jack it up high in the rear ( using a floor jack ), the front tire will also come up eventually.

If I remember correctly you can buy parts for a Crossfire at any local(or not local) Chrysler dealership.

That's just their excuse to jack up the prices.

Don't get mad at me if this is wrong, but I replaced the jack pad on my C55, and I seem to recall when doing some research that basically all Mercedes SLK and C class models used the same part.

You can buy it here for dirt cheap!
Search - RM European Auto Parts

Again, I can't guarantee it will fit but honestly for the price I would buy one just to check. Very easy to replace. All it is is a fat black plastic plug that screws into the frame with a flathead screwdriver.

I have purchased from rmeuropean a few times and have always been pleased with relatively quick shipping.

What I was told from the distributor at oempartswarehouse after he told me the crossfire jack pad was on back order, was that he sold the SLK jack pad to a crossfire owner and they said they had to make modifications to it to make it fit. So once I heard that I said screw it. So I'll use one of these ways and I'm sure it will work just fine.

Even though my jack pads are intact(a little beat up from previous owner), I use a small piece of 3/4" rubber horsestall mat that I cut. I have one size for the jack pads, and a larger one for the rear diff.. This material is near bullet proof, and pliable enough to spread the load evenly, so it does no damage what so ever.

I always wondered if an NHL hockey puck would fit nicely in that area.

It looks close to the size, and heaven knows it's sturdy...lol...

Here is the answer to your problems: Jack Pad Tools for BMW, Mercedes, GT-R

Part number W203JPT

Does fit Crossfire jack pads. I have one and it works.

These do not tilt as the car is jacked up as the OEM jack pad does. This will put all the weight on one spot of the cars jack point.

Most modern floor jacks have a tilt mechanism built in. The Reverse Logic jack pad rests on the top of my floor jack's circular base, and I use a wide rubber couch skid protector to keep the above-linked device in position on the jack.

It works great for me.

I'm using a piece of 2x4 inch wood, ±3 inch long.

It fit perfectly. I keep that piece in my trunk in case of emergency.

It only works until it splits in half! Although wood is quite strong, such a short piece of wood is very easily split. Without a pliable material in between, that spreads the load more evenly, you will have a point load that could easily exceed the strength of such a short piece of wood. I lift and move buildings for a living, please believe me.
