Default TB first or tune first

Will it matter what order I do this. Should I do the throttlebody upgrade first then the eurocharged tune or vice versa. I plan on doing the TB , tune and the dual cai.

Not really, EC will retune at no charge after upgrades.

BUT!!! If it were me, I'd do the CAI & 74mm TB together, then drive it a week or so to get a feel for it, then get the tune and see the difference ....

( I did the CAI a year ago, the TB 6 months ago and just now getting around to getting the EC tune )

The biggest diffrence with all the mods I have done is the Dcai/sprint booster best combo other mods like TB and tune will just make it that bit sweeter!

I am in the same boat. Waiting on my cai so I can install the TB, then getting my tune done. I assumed that order would be most efficient, but I have been wrong before...once...I think...

Anyone have a spare 74mm TB just sitting around, or I can see what my emloyee price would run me on a new one at our Mercedes store. There are only a few on ebay.

Trenzman:
I grewup in TC, We have almost the same car. You need to come up to Houston and go see Eurocharged, 221 Baker Road, off I-10 and Greenhouse Road. They will make you a deal for the tune and will give free tunes as you make more mods. Mine is an N/A and getting 211 RWHP now. Look at my signature and you can see all
I have done to mine. E-mail jerry@eurocharged.com or call at 281-398-9700. He is on vaction until 6/5/2012. PM me and maybe we can meet up and go to lunch and get you a tune.

I would do the 74mm TB, K&Ns, larger CAI, larger MAF with baffles and screen removed then do the tune. If you have some extra money get three or four Dyno runs to tweak it in. I makes a lot of difference. PM me when you can.

Dave, according to the pictures at needswings.com, you do NOT use any of the previous components when installing the single or dual CAI, so the "larger MAF with baffles and screen removed" does not apply.

I have the old style NW single CAI, and it consists of a 90 deg silicon hose from TB to tube, the MAF sensor goes in the welded-on bung in the tube.

I stand corrected on the "NeedsWings" parts. I didn't see you already had the CAI done. Are you sure it was not already tuned to the "needs Wings" CAI"? I would just add the 74mmTB. You don't have the baflles or MAF. If it has not been tuned I would still contact Eurocharged, as they are in Houston and easy to get to and contact.

Dave,

I'm calling Mercedes Greenway on 59 Tues. to see what my employee price will be on a new TB. I am going to add that then get the tune, I may have to wait on the dual CAI untill we go on the cruise we are planning. I have some extra $$ comming from Ford that will pay for those two goodies. And yes we do have almost the same car....except on mine, the previous owner washed it in the middle of summer with a dry rag...But I have a guy here thats going to re-paint the front bumper and wetsand and buff the whole car for $425 and I have seen his work and its flawless.

let me know what you get for a price for the TB though I suspect it will be more than the $150-$200 they go for on ebay
