Default Reset Needed??? for working with the ignition module?

Hello!

I have been having problems with the key not turning over due to the steering wheel locking up. So thanks to some posts on here I've decided to either change out the ignition module or just grind down the locking pin myself.

The process looks pretty simple. My one concern is that if i disconnect the battery or pull the connection on the ignition module, am I going to need a computer reset (not sure on the terminology on this but have heard that it needs to be done in some cases).

Any info on this would be VERY helpful. In addition to my original question, when is a reset needed??

Thanks in advance.

As far as disconnecting the battery, the only thing you will probably loose is the memory settings in your radio. Car should run fine otherwise.
