Inner Fender Liner Replacement
Well folks I was securing my HID Ballasts in position this Saturday and when I went to access the fog light area, I noticed the front inner fender liner on both sides were cracked and/or partially broken.
After some searching, I am having trouble locating these pieces in good shape from salvage yards and don't want to even contemplate the butt raping I would get at the dealer for a part that will ultimately fail again anyway.
So, my tinkering bone started twitching severely and I've decided to reproduce the pieces. Probably in light sheet aluminum. This way they will not deteriorate or become brittle.
I've made my initial patterns and was wondering if anyone else out there has had issues with their front fender inner liners? If so, maybe I could be persuaded to produce a few extra sets of these liners for public consumption.
Comments? Questions? I'll post pictures of the offending pieces later tonight or tomorrow.

The MB diagram looks identical to the Chrysler one, guess I'll be the ginnea pig since i need a new fender liner too...but don't want to shell out $82.39 for the same part.

Oh I see, well stranger things have happened. Let us know how it goes...
Wow, I guess I wasn't looking hard enough... www.parts.com has the Mercedes and Chrysler parts, but what a price difference! They are a hair cheaper than the Mercedes parts site. $26.40 each. I too would like to know if they are the same part...

Until then, I'll halt my project. I have the patterns already, so if I need to, I'll make them anyway.
