Default Shifter FEEL APART (6 speed)

Hi gang!

Just thought I'd let you know ahead of time that you may experience a problem like we are with our NEW Crossfire Convertible 6 Speed shifter.

It feel apart the other day and is (presently) in the shop awaiting a new one from Chrylser to replace the one that came apart.

The wife went to back out of the garage on Saturday and when trying to shift it into first gear the shift lever literally floped around- evident that it was NOT attached to anything, yet still stayed in the boot.

She parked it next to the front curb and called me. I called Chrysler on Monday and had it flat beaded into their dealership. I hate that!

WHY? I don't know for sure. The service manager said something in the remote shifter mechanism literally popped out (which evidently was a pressed in bushing of some sort.)

Just so you know, the Crossfire has a remote shifter mechanism that attaches by both cable and rods to the actual shifter inside the trany, some distance away from the shifter. The trany itself appears to be fine it is just the remote shifter that feel apart.

Will post update after it is repaired. No comments or questions please at this time. You know all that I do at this point.

THANKS
