Default Speed control volume on stereo?

Can someone tell me if there's a way to turn this feature off? I can't stand that feature.

Also, I was kind of mislead that the stereo was a 6 disc in dash changer. Doesn't seem like it to me. Am I missing something there?

Thanks.

Haven't see a factory changer in the X-fire.
I don't mind the volume/speed feature, it's not enough to bother me.

You can pull the speed wire that goes to the amp under the passenger footwell. The carpet pulls back and the panels come off pretty easily. I have the shop manuals but don't have time to look up the wire right now. Post again if you would like the info and I'll try to get to it later.

I wasn't aware of a speed control feature. What is it and what can it do?

The volume will adjust based on the speed.

Can you take out the head unit? If the back pin of your head unit looks something like this:

If you take out pin A1, it will disable the feature.

BTW, this is a diagram of general becker head unit (Which is used in the crossfire, Mercedes, and Porsche)[/img]

No you can't turn this off and the standard stereo does not have an input to plug a CD changer into it and thus it is not an option.

Pin 5, Connector A on the power amplifier (black w/dark green) comes from the Body Control Module. Disconnecting this wire will likely disable the auto speed volume control.

Are we talking some feature that is on the 05? I wasn't aware that this was a feature on the 04. Please enlighten me on this.

I have an infinity radio that has a different pinout on the back then the one posted above. A & B look the same, but C is totally different. C has horizontal pins in three rows. Top has 7 pins, two sets of two and then a set of three. (Two pins, space, two pins, space, 4 pins) Middle row is 3 sets of two. Bottom is like the top.

Anyone have documentation on this, or can direct me to an appropriate location? Thanks!

are you sure?

After a little search, the headunit for XF is similar to Becker Monza.
Here is the wiring diagram for it:

I guess I will find out once I get my own XF
Oh yeah, I do installation for Mercedes for a while already

This Monza connector looks just like the main connector on my infinity crossfire radio. The fuse is in a different place, and mine has a fibre optic connector under where the Manza fuse is, but otherwise just like it.

Is this a Euro standard thing, or what?
