Auto transmission issues
Hey everybody! New to posting, but I've been browsing the site over the last few months and it's been a great resource. So, I bought a used 2005 Crossfire Limited Conv, auto transmission, with 41,000 miles on it. Everything checked out when I got the car (~8 months ago), but about 4 months ago, the car randomly stalled on me at a light. I turned the car off, waited a second and started her up and everything was fine. About a week later I took her into my mechanic to have a tranny flush and refill, he said the fluid was dark, but there were no metal shavings in the fluid, so that was a good thing. But then about 3 weeks later I noticed a lag in shifting between 2nd and 3rd. At first it was maybe once every so often, but over the next few weeks it got worse and worse. So now here I am, 3 months after the tranny flush, and 80% of the time the shifts between 2nd, 3rd, and now 4th are clunky and delayed. It also takes a second too long when it kicks between drive and reverse. I'd like to go back to the mechanic with at least an idea of what might be going on... How ****** am I?
I'm assuming so too. Finding a mechanic you can fully trust is like the holy grail. I've been scouring the forum reading every post about DIY tranny flush/fill, I'm ordering supplies tonight and will go at this weekend, I need to change the oil anyways, why not make it a two parter! Any tips/tricks
It is critical that you use the proper synthetic trans fluid. I hope the damage to your trans is not irreversible. When taking your car in for service you need to make sure they know what fluids to use.

Also, even if it were the correct fluid, if it was overfilled it could cause those symptoms. What happens is it begins to get air bubles in it and them the fluid can't do the proper job. Eitheway, at this point you'll need to change it. Make sure you put the proper amount it. Make sure you take out the proper amount. Good luck.
The only other thing it might be is if the fluid leaked at the tranny connector. When mine did that it would barely get into second and eventually went into limp mode.

The car is parked until the weekend. I can get my hands on some MOPAR Crossfire/Sprinter ATF, but the price is a little steep. For substantially less I can get Shell ATF 134, various posts on the forum state that the Shell is approved for the 722.6 transmission. Is the MOPAR in any way better? Thanks for the replies guys, I'm in need of some support in these dark times. Tranny failure is not one of my 2014 resolutions.
I know personally that if the transmission is over filled that it will pump out the excess out the vent in short order. I was doing lots of testing and found this to be true. Id not worry about over fill, the color is indicitive of over heated fluid which is a bigger issue and consistent with no metal. Check the cooler and lines for proper flow - blow them out.
