We have a member from Spain that is having an issue opening both doors with his key. It works fine with the key fob, but not the key. Has anyone here had this problem? If so whats the fix?

Does the key turn or not turn?

 

It turns, but only opens the driver's side.

 

Well Pizza and I worked with some members on the other side of the pond. Apparently the Crossfire is configured differently to open the doors with the key. It only opens a the driver's door.

 

It must be a security thing, to prevent someone getting in the car from a hidden position when you have just got into it.
The EU has many rules and this is probably one of them, a good rule to my mind.
The fob can be programmed to do the same thing over here.

 

That's my take, and what I explained to our friend in Spain. He doesn't seem to happy about though....

 

Hola amigos, e leido el libro de crossfire y pone que cerrando con la llave tendria wue cerrar y abrir todas las puertas desde la puerta del conductor. Asi que algo mal esta en mi coche.... por cierto muchas gracias a todos e!

 

I have never used the key to lock/unlock doors, hope I never have to.

 

Yo tambien nunca quiero utilizar llave, pero cuando algun dia se rompa el mando, no podre cerrar el coche.

Do your door locks work using the lock / unlock button on the dash? If not, it sounds like your central locking module may have gotten wet. It is located in the right rear of the car. Look in the area where your jack & tools are stored. The central locking module is under that styfoam panel on the right side of the car. Check that area for water intrusion . . .

Do you have an SRT6? Coupe or Roadster?

 

The simplest answer would be that the batteries in the fob need replacing, but you must have thought of that already. Right?
