Default O2 sensors - which is which?

My car is throwing codes P0134 and P0135 (Bank 1 Sensor 1) and P0153 (Bank 2 sensor 1)

Now, I get it that one side of the engine is "Bank 1", etc.

But do I have this right: The "Sensor 1" for each side is the sensor in the exhaust at the back of the engine?

Sensor one in o2 sensors is always the one closest to the engine. Bank one is usually the side that has the first cylinder closest to the radiator, usually labeled #1 while bank 2 is on the opposite side.

Thanks for that.

Well, this time I THINK it's easy, since B1 S1 started acting up in the fall, then was OK. Then it started again just as I went into the hospital.
For the past two weeks, both B1 S1 and B2 S1 are acting up - so I'm thinking of just changing them both.

They claim O2 sensors are good for ~80K miles. If your are originals then its probably time to replace them. The rears are probably not too far from failing as well. Probably wouldn't hurt, nor be too cost prohibitive to do all of them at once. You will probably see a decent increase in fuel mileage.

Yea, this will be the summer of medical bills and car fixes.

I just ordered the spark plug/wire set from Needwings and a fuel filter/regulator as well.
105,000 miles, it's time. This car has cost me almost NOTHING to drive for 60,000 miles.

(Assuming Tires cost nothing, but still, tires and oil changes are not repairs.)
