2005 SRT6 Limp Mode (Stuck in 1st gear)
One day my 2005 Crossfire SRT6 went into limp mode, where the transmission wouldn't shift anymore. I read here that it is the transmission control module, so we purchased a used part in working condition and used it to replace the non-working part. This solved the problem and the car started shifting again. Not long after the car had the same problem again, so we tried putting the old TCM back in to see what would happen, and it ended up working again! Now a little while later the problem is back. I read that it could be the connector plate instead, so we got that replaced, but it didn't fix the problem. Am I missing something? Do you think it was indeed the TCM, but just got another bad one and I should try again? Or does some code have to be cleared from the computer? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

The code that it gives is P0753. So now I'm wondering if it's actually one of the solenoids or not. The fact that the car worked for a while after replacing the TCU is making it extremely hard to pinpoint the problem. I don't know what else to do with this car, this entire thing is just so frustrating.

First of all check the fluid level in the transmission and look for signs of a leakage at the transmission electrical connector located at the EDIT right front corner of the transmission where the cable connects).

I suspect you have a leak at the transmission connector (the o-rings on the OEM connectors will ALL fail eventually). It is a $13.00 part. Low fluid level will trip the transmission into limp mode. Start with that and let us know what happens.

Yes, you're correct (again) . . . The electrical connector is located at the front right corner of the transmission. Here's a You Tube video that details the R & R . . .

Here is the full set of videos that show the repair of the tranny.

Thanks for the replies! I forgot to mention that the transmission connector was replaced as well and the fluid levels are good. Any other ideas? Does anyone think that it could just coincidentally be the TCU again (since we did replace it with another used one)? Or possibly the solenoids?
