Default Alarm Control Module

What does the alarm control module do? I believe this is the part that is on the rear passenger frame rail, tucked away above the central locking module?

I've done a search but can't seem to find the function of this part.
thanks

NO, that is the "Tow Away" module.
The Alarm (siren ) module is mounted under the wiper cowl close to the center of the car.
