what is this part, found in trans pan

Default what is this part, found in trans pan

i found this part in my trans pan when changing the fluid and doing leak fix.
anyone know what this is and where it goes?

Picture won't load for me but if it looks like a little plastic stopper it's used in assembly to keep dust from getting in through the dipstick tube. Just means that's the first time the fluid has been changed. Again I can't see the picture but that's my guess. Every automatic transmission has one until the first fluid change.

I was just setting here wondering when you're going to convert to E85.

don't want to thd jack, but no E 85 just mid 10's is all i ever wanted, now i am there, reliable daily driver and happy,,,(unless some goes faster that my car) lol jim

Its a magnet to catch any metal debris that may enter the pain.

If you (snekeptp) closed up the transmission pan already, I suggest you open it up again. You DO NOT want to have metal shavings (ferrous metal) swimming around in there.

not used to seeing such and odd shaped magnet. usually just part of or added to the drain plug.
i did not install the pan until i had an answer.
doing a full 100k mile service.
oil done, trans done including new wiring connector to correct leak
waiting on water pump, belt, idler and tensioner.
will do the rear while i am under the car now.
