I can say that the DRB III emulator is easy to use and worked great to perform a relearn sequence of the TPMS for my 2005 SRT6. I also used an Autel TS601 to make each wheel sensor "chirp" in the sequence requested by the DRB III.
Hi John&Terry Is this the DRB3 emulator required to program the TPMS?

Hi Sapphire,
I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

This is what is required, along with a laptop: V17.04.27 wiTech MicroPod 2 for Chrysler Diagnosis & Programming Multi-language All the necessary software is included with the unit for $135. Other than a laptop, that is your only required expense.

I went this route because my dealer couldn't do the job.

Please let me know if you have any questions. There are also others who have done this.

I've attached a video below that shows the steps involved to relearn the TPMS when using the DRB lll emulator.

Thank you, and good luck,

John

Hi JoeO,

I am not familiar with this unit. But for the cost, it seems like a good value. Looks like it may even be available for less on ebay.

Know nothing about the Konnwei except it comes from China and there is no mention of SRS checks or Oil Change reset.. Sounds a lot like what Torque Pro does and see no reason to replace my Autel.for in depth

Since do not have a roadster, do not know but Autel can read all of the sensors & switches for the retractible top in an SLK.

wiTECH sounds a lot like a Tech2Win for GM. Also requires a subscription for same things.

TeamSapphire - I've got the DRB3 Emulator software running on a refurbished & inexpensive Windows7 laptop I bought off eBay ($80). I use it with an Autel TS501 TPMS Code Reader. You will will need a TPMS Code Reader/Scanner that can read (activate) the wheel sensors so the DRB3 software can load the required info into the TPMS Module via the OBD2 port located below the DS dash. With John&Terry's help, performing the Relearn process & clearing the TPMS warning light was simple to do.

I have owned my 05 Limited Roadster since 2010 and been using this forum for about 9 years and been a member for 7 years. I have been able to fix my X-fire every time I have had a problem with it because of this forum. You guys are great!!!

My crankshaft position sensor went out on me again or maybe it's the Camshaft position sensor that I have not replaced yet not sure which one (I'm replacing both this time) so, It came to me, maybe I might want to invest in a Scanner/Code reader. That brought me to this thread. After reading it...... I had a couple questions.... I originally wanted a scanner/code reader, after reading this thread I learned that they are many out there that do different things. Price is not my concern, but, don't want to waste money.

I learned that some like the Autel DiagLink others iCarSoft MD II. I have seen DBR III, Micropod II emulator, Launch CPR 123, Launch Millennium 90 Pro and others mention 5 years ago on this thread. At first I figured that I would get the Autel DiagLink. I like the idea that I could get buy marque for the X-fire and one for the Chevy Traverse and be able to use it for both vehicles. Then I seen that the it will not communicate with the SRS and wont "bleed the ABS Unit" not the brakes I'm guessing only the Unit??? Not a mechanic... Then I checked out the Launch Millennium 90 Pro and it seemed to do SRS and ABS Unit and Bi-directional communication with the computer. Also can do drive testing with it "plus more".

What my question is which one to get? I need to replace my TPMS in the near future and looks like ill need a tool and the DBR III to learn them or program them???? Can anyone or everyone chime in here. I really don't know what I'm wanting it to do because at first I thought it was only a reader now I find out resetting codes and reading and talking with each other (Bi-directional communication) and programming the Tire sensors TPMS. I'm kinda lost in the aspect on which one to invest in or which ones to invest in.

I recognize many of the names on this post. Meaning I have read many of your post in the past to help me fix my problems and I know you all know the X-fire very good....Pizzaguy, Onehundred80, Padgett and respect your opinions. I do understand you will have different views most likely and that is great. Sorry about the book but wanted to tell you what I WAS thinking and what I'm thinking NOW. All I want is a tool to do the most I can get out of it and not spend $500 but if need be then that is what I will do. I always buy OEM parts for my X-fire, but thinking about not doing that when I replace the top. LOL

I appreciate any and all replies, This is my first post and I hope to figure it out along the way so, bare with me.

Hello,

The DRB III emulator will perform a TPMS relearn. However, it will not perform a brake bleed. I've included a short video of the process to follow. If you ever happen to be in Northern CA I would be happy to do it for free.

Good luck,
John

Our Crossfires can not do a "brake bleed" via any data port scanner/device. The cars electronics are not programed for it. Toolman has the DRB III and has tried it on his 2004 and I believe a 2006 model. Perhaps he will chime in here. Neither would exercise the foot pedal up and down as seen on you tube videos on other make or models. He could get the ABS motor to run, but only for about a second. I had a similar experience on a 2005 Mercedes CLK 500 which uses the same KWP2000 protocol as our Crossfires; No brake bleed procedure via the data port possible on the CLK

The best way I know to bleed the brake system is to use the pressure method from the master cylinder with something like Motive Power Bleeder.

Schrader 20028 sensors worked on my '06 roadster when the OE TPMS ones died finally a few weeks ago, and are the same ones that were originally supplied to Chrysler and rebadged as OE Mopar at 4x the cost per sensor. I bought the 20028 sensors on Amazon. The dealer successfully reprogrammed the TPMS module with the four new codes, but when they left at the service dept closing time the light was still on and they were baffled. When they came in the next morning the light had turned off, and has been off ever since.

So I was in limp mode and searched this forum and the slk forum for the right diagnostic tool to buy. Felt pretty good about an Autel. Just got my Autel ML629 about 130$ on Amazon. Deleted my transmission codes without even having to do the update.
My scanner is also welcome to anyone near the florida panhandle if it helps.
Enjoy!
