Cleaning the headlight assembly? Help!
So I've tried everything from sanding to buffing and even tried the headlight cleaning stuff from oriellys, and they still look like crap, anyone have any suggestions on how to clean them? Thanks!
You don't...well you can but it's not worth it.

I hate to say this, but, your headlights just need a more...aggressive...sanding.
Here's a video :
This fella is a bit sloppier-and faster-than I am, but it's a good guide.
I've had to start with P500 and work up from there with a few badly sun-damaged lenses. If you sand, then dry, and you can still see the horizontal cutoff line of damage, do it again.
That 1st .003" is some very tough material applied during manufacturing. You can't polish it-you can merely remove it.
I'm starting to lean toward what many here promote: Clearcoating them once you are happy with the clarity. Here's a video, but there are some contradictions with the 1st video.
Go for it!:
One last thought-the "line" will move gradually "down" the face of the lens as you remove the protective coating. It's a sign of progress? Kinda'?
Mine looked even worse than yours, now here is what they look like after sanding like crazy (the lenses were pretty much opaque at that point), and then a few layers of clearcoat.
Fixing these (any, really) to make them look as-new is just a matter of having the guts to start off making them look terrible!
How are you guys getting them out? Do you absolutely have to take the bumper off? Mine will not budge and I live in a apartment complex so my landlord will flip out if she see my bumper and stuff laying beside my car, (technically not aloud to do car matainence here because it "makes the parking lot look trashy")
You really do NOT need to remove them. Buy a couple of rolls of blue painters tape, put 3 layers around the edge to protect the paint and be careful.
If you start to lift an edge of the tape, re-apply.
No worries, mate.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it! And has anyone painted the inside of the assembly? I wanted to redo the black, make it more of a gloss black
Some here have done that but you have to split the headlight like when you want to install angel eyes or halos. You will need to dremel the lenses open and reseal. I have read the heating in the oven thing wont work on ours.
