Most likely a bad 'flash to pass' switch in the stalk.

You mean a bad wire to both lights - What does stalk mean?

O, Denmark, sorry.
Stalk is the thing that you press forward for high beams and pull back for "flash to pass".
NOT a bad wire to both lights, there is a switch in the stalk to cause the high beams to come on when the stalk is pulled toward you.

I just installed some hid lights in my fogs and dims. They work great but after flicking the brights on and off a few times to see how they looked in comparison to the hid. And now the brights don't come on anymore when I put the brights on.. I flick the brights switch and the fogs and dims stay on and brights don't come on and there is no high beam light showing on the dash.. . But when I pull the switch towards me for the flash feature the brights do come on and the fogs go off as they should and the high beam light shows up on the dash.

Anybody have seen this before? Did I somehow fry the brights switch??
Any help would be great. Thanks

It is strange that the low beams each have a 15a fuse, whereas the high beams have but a 7.5a fuse each. Go figure.
Anyway, I'd say replace both high beam 7.5a fuses ( fuse 3 & 5 in the ILCM aka headlight switch ) with 15a ones and carry on.

is the flash to pass on a different circuit then the high beams? Different set of fuses? As my flash to pass works but not the constant on hgh beam position

I just priced that multi function switch and did so at both Mercedes and Chrysler..

OneHundred80... You certainly wouldn't have won the prize on the price is right with your assumption of pricing for that multi switch lol...

Get this.. Mercedes it was $554.00 CAnadian including taxes and at Chrysler it was a whopping $804.00 Canadian dollars including taxes..

I think that if I sell my car piece by piece I could be a millionaire lol

I was only curious as to what the stealerships were going to charge.. No way in hell was I going to buy one from there....

Thanks for putting up various items for sale... I'm thinking that at the rate these things seem to burnout I should probably find a new one as opposed to a used one.. The time it will take to take everything apart and access the switch it's best I go the safe route and put in a new one.. And not take the risk of taking the time to take everything apart and have a used part fail lol

Who says these burn out quickly? I know of two or three, reading this thread after being on this forum for a short time and assuming they burn up is not right.

My motto is "do it right, do it once or don't do it at all "
So all I'm saying is that I would rather put the odds in my favor and put in a new part for only 2 hundred bucks more. I don't ever want to be replacing it again lol my time to potentially have to do the work twice is worth more than the 2 bills
