Air Bag Light Still on
Hi
I have a 2004 roadster, an auto electrician diagnosed the airbag control module had failed. I purchased on on Ebay and have fitted it. The same auto electrician could not clear the codes on their generick machine... My question is; does it need to be cleared on a chrysler specific computer or does the new module need to be "Paired to the cars computer" or something?
Feeling a little stressed; all the work was for nothing
Cheers

Rick, welcome to the forum !
I google mapped your location, what a lovely place !
As to the air bag light, everything I have ever read says that ONLY the Chrysler stealership can reset it, sorry.

Ok so i'll book it in at the dealership in Auckland; thanks for your help.

Dr. George (ALA_XFIRE) is correct. It requires a DRBIII unit to clear that code and reset the air bag light. Suggest that you ask your Chrysler dealer if they still have the equipment on hand to work on Crossfires before you make the trip over there with your car.
Hi Guy's
so I went to Chrysler (After many phone calls and "advice") and they discovered that the part, although an identical part number had one extra feature loaded when it was in the previous car. That was it had a key switch to turn the passenger airbag off in case you had a child restraint there. This means that they could not reset it because the car module was looking for this switch. Chrysler tells me I need to get another controller module with only the exact features my crossfire has.
If it were a brand new module they would just program it to the features the car has! I fail to see why there is no way to just wipe it's memory and start again!?
Any ideas or do I need to do it all again :-(
Cheers
