Red face High pitch squeaking noise when accelerating and decelerating

I have a 2006 convertible with about 55,000 miles. The other day I noticed a very high squeaking noise coming from the passenger side. It seems to come on when I am accelerating and decelerating. Does anyone know what might be going on?

Debra

Can you replicate this ,by sitting in park and revving the engine? When you say, "passenger side", is it in the engine compartment or does it sound like it's towards the rear of the vehicle? Remember ,the more information you can provide, the easier it will be for the forum to help.

Pulley or belt problem I would guess, unless the passenger is getting a little scared at your driving.

I will check it out. It sounds like it's coming from the glove box area. I will see what happens when I am in park.

Thanks !!!

LOL! That sounds eerily like my wife when the speedometer hit 145 😉

Yes, this weird noise is also heard when in park when I accelerate and decelerate. What's up with this?

How high pitch? I currently have a whine from the alternator and that's in front of the passenger side.
