Help for unlocking passenger door and trunk. Tried both keys. If I lock the drivers side door, the driving lights come on intermittently and drains the battery. Guess these issues are related somehow. Thanks for any help!

 

Sounds like the security system module/pump is sitting water, slowly being destroyed. Common issue.

Tear out the passenger side trunk/hatch lining and get in there and dig it out. I'll bet it's wet.

Fortunately, they are 'generic', all Crossfires (Coupe/Roadster/Base/Limited/SRT) use the SAME one! You can go with a used one from a junked car or buy new.

 

THen, ya gotta figure out how the water got in there, from what I understand the most common reasons are:

SRTS - leaks around the wing's mounts.
Base/Limiteds - leaking hoses for the drains under the spoiler - they discharge above the license plate area on a Roadster, not sure on a Coupe.

ALSO, I think some have had leaks somehow around the gas cap filler area.

 

Where can I find out exactly where it is and what I am looking for?

 

Also, how do I get into the trunk? Key wont release the latch. Is there an override?

 

Coupe or Roadster?

 

I have never owned a Coupe. I do know the Roadsters have an emergency release that you can access by removing the driver's side tag/license plate light -you take a wire coat hanger, form a hook in one end, pass it in about 8 inches and fish around and grab the emergency release cable and pull - trunk pops open!

Iv'e tried this as a test and it does work!

You then remove all those little black button-things in the trunk area and the trim comes out. The pump/module in a roadster is in the wheel well ahead of the tail light assembly. YOu can raise the decklid as if you were putting the top up/down and see the thing down in the well but you cant GET to it unless you tear the trim out of the trunk.

As to Copues, I've never owned one, but it is said that it is under the floor trim, kinda off to the passenger side. It IS in there, I guarantee it - dont' say it is not there, it IS there. Ya just gotta dig for it.

Others who own coupes will maybe be more help
