I do not think creating a valet/emergency key will be difficult though my use a fob shell since is so cheap and includes a key blank. The "key" is that you must have a good chip to clone. Hope to put together a "bench" in a few days and make computer copies of all my chip keys just to have a record. Frankly do not see enough smarts on the circuit board to support a rolling code

The rolling code comes from the SKREEM I think.
The rolling code of garage door openers comes from the door opener unit not the cars transceiver or hand held unit.
That’s my theory. Hi

Well I now have a circuit board (thank you Red Dog) and it just does not look that complicated though I can understand the need for a rolling code. Just going to have to develop a receiver & record the transmission so I can see what it looks like.

Hi Padgett,

I am anxious to know if you can successfully program a virgin transponder chip to match an existing working transponder ship using that $36 programmer from E-Bay? Please let me know as soon as you've done that successfully . . .

That is a key question in this discussion.

OK I'll try to get a blank cut this week. Just be aware that the $36 programmer is for the RFID chip and not the RKE circuit board. Think both are doable, just doing one at a time. Do think duplicating a fob is the easy part.

You are using the correct batteries? There are two batteries the same diameter, but they have different thicknesses. Are you are using the correct batteries, #2032 not #2025.
I have used #2025s in an emergency, but they are a bit loose and maybe do not press down on the contacts enough to get good contact.

SLide a dime between the battery and the contact. That's how Red Green would fix it.

Thanks for responding. So many do not let everyone else know what finally worked.

So tt's 1 x 2032 batteries right? because 2 won't fit in my fob.

No, it is 2 x 2025, 2025s are thinner. It is all in the Owners Manual.
2.5 mm thick versus 3.2 mm.

I’m confused. Post 29 says use 2 2032 because 2025s are too loose. I have six fobs and they all have 2 2025s and are working just fine.

OK,I was wrong. I assumed if 2025s were too loose then they had to be 2032s.
This time I looked at the Owners Manual.

Has anyone actually attempted this process?

if you have a fob that works, why couldn’t you remove the chip and install it close to the ring

take the existing circuit board and install it into a new fob case with key blade (no transponder because it resides on the ring)

If this works then you would be able to get a used FOB from EBay for the circuit board

install the circuit board from EBay used fob into eBay new fob with key blade

if the chip on the ring works then the rest of this would cost less than $50

i have progamed a used fob to unlock my car. I cannot dubilcate the transponder
