Can to identify this part
Hi,
I just recently purchased a 2004 Crossfire coupe with 33K miles. It is a very well taken care of car. While going through the car I found 4 rubber plugs laying under the trunk floor near the jack. The part number on the plugs is 124 997 07 86. This appears to be a Mercedes Benz part number and Mercedes has it listed as a "Stop Plug" and also as "Plug, Side Member Front". I have looked under the car and I don't see where these 4 plugs would go. I have attached photos from a Mercedes website of the plug. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

No luck finding this out for you. I found on a Mercedes owner site posting where the member said he found these on the floor by his brake pedal after having the dealer replace a water pump. A parts website referenced the part being associated with the Front Left Wheelhouse. Without taking the wheel off I used a mirror and flashlight to look around and behind the front wheel on my convertible and didn't see it, but my view was limited. I also did a search for "plug" in the 2004 Crossfire parts manual and found a plugs chart on page 227. The Chrysler part number is: 05099362AA. There is no parts diagram reference where this goes. This certainly appears to be a body sheet metal or frame plug.

They are exactly what onehundred80 said they are. I found 4 of them in a sealed plastic bag in the glove box of my SRT6. I guess who ever prepped the car at the Chrysler dealer, didn't know what they were for or just too lazy to put them in the holes, so I did
.
There are two elongated slots in the top face of the radiator support frame, the slots are just behind the headlights. They might fit in those slots.
I think bluecoupe fitted them there at one time and someone stole them at a car show.
If they fit you will have two spares, I claim them now.

Thanks everyone for the input. Since people have found them inside the car the plugs must be for the tiedowns during shipping. I'll examine my coupe again and see if I can find 4 elongated holes.
