We purchased a black 2005 Limited Coupe almost 3 months ago, and love it! Although it's not yet time for an oil change, I'm interested in finding out the best oil filter to use with the Mobil 1 0W40 oil. Does it take 6, 7 or 8.5 quarts? Also, how many miles between changes? Thanks.

 

8.5 quarts, and i usually do it every 5,000 miles, though i've read others do it at 7K intervals.

 

I just did my first oil change at 4800 miles.....early, by the cars computer, but I am old, and like to get the initial oil fill out of the car after 3,000 - 4,000 miles. I took it to the dealer, with my own oil. The service with filter was $24.00. They used 8 quarts of oil. I topped it up with another half quart after driving it a day. I had to reset the computer, back to 7000 miles. Be sure and get the 0-40W Mobil One. The dealer checked it twice to make sure it was the correct weight, for warranty purposes.

I had the dealer just change my oil with my inspection. They charged me $81 including the oil which I thought was very fair. I have 7,110 miles on my xfire and this is her second oil change. My wrench light came on, so i knew it was time.

 

How did you get it done for $24. I spent $60 just on the oil and filter.

Looks like there is a plastic shield that needs to be removed to drain the oil?
