Default Power Drain - has anyone experienced this?

Back when I first joined the Forum I wanted to ask those more experienced with the car if they experienced a power drain that would result in a dead battery when the car sat for 5 or more days (approx.) I used to have tis happen, so I put a float charger on it when it was to be laid up for a couple days. Of course, that solved the problem, but if I forgot, it would do it again - resulting in having to get out the battery pac and then let it run for 10 mins or so and it was god to go. I suspect it could be the computer(s) that drain it, or perhaps when the radio was switched something there could be causing it - anyone have any ideas?

Not other than the normal procedure :
connect VOM in amps scale between negative battery terminal and negative cable, then start pulling fuses one at a time until you hit one that results in a reading of 30 millamps or so.

Some vehicles in the fuse panel have a fuse with a yellow holder around it, sonyou can pull the fuse out of its socket but not all the what out of the panel.
labeled iod I think for ignition off draw, and is for the reason if setting for long periods of time it will keep the battery from draining.

.

Please remember when your testing for a parasitic drain, to WAIT until the car has completely shut its devices off. Many circuits are hot for a number of minutes until that 'sleep' mode is present. I actually do not know what that time span is but someone may chirp in. After the car is 'sleeping', then you'll be able to start the current testing to find the problem circuit(s). Remember, DO NOT REOPEN DOORS or switch on anything (that wakes the car again). Good luck!

I have experienced the battery being drained and just dealt with keeping it charge up. I went and pulled the fuses and checked for amperage draw across the them the second fuse from the front is the culprit pulled about 28 on my meter. So what circuit is this? I don't have any manuals for the car . and I don't see any on here.

I think that would be fuse 38 identified as switched ignition output.
I search for wire color 18PK which is on the output side of that fuse and counted at least 15 different things it powered,
from heated spray nozzles to seat relay to pulse module etc.
Good luck.

Ask nicely and you might get an answer.

All the answers are here in most cases and the service manuals are here as well.
28 amps is a lot of power, why did it not blow the fuse? Maybe 2.8 amps.
