Default No start - SKREEM?

2004 Crossfire, 17000 miles. Sat for two years, then ran fine for 6 months. After a mild hand washing it would not start. Everything works except the starter did not engage. Next morning it started and I ran it for 15 minutes to make sure everything was dry. Did not restart right after turning it off. Did not start the next day. Checked RCM and reflowed solder joints that appeared fine, relays appear shiny and new. Battery new. Key fob always unlocks doors. I reset things by disconnecting battery and touching cables together. After reattaching I usually get two 1-second starts and then nothing. Once in a while I will get one start and sometimes three. No codes. Based upon this forum it looks like the SKREEM module. I see three suppliers for SKREEM. Had Crossfire for 6 months and need opinions from experienced people. Any ideas other than the SKREEM module? Thankyou.

Sounds like the SKREEM is bad to me.

I have seen your handle on a lot of Crossfire Forum posts, thanks for your input.

I agree, sounds like typical Skreem modular failure. A DRB II scan tool can read the code for Skreem modular failure to confirm your hypothesis.

Will check to see if my mechanic has access to DRB II scan tool.

If it is bad, MDP Diagnostic and SOS Diagnostic repair them. Do a search on this site for bad screem.

I sent my SKREEM, ECU and 2 keys (from New Zealand) to MDP in Pinellas Park, FL for repair.
They spent a couple of days on it but discovered my SKREEM was unrepairable.

Luckily they had some OEM and keys available and they re-programmed these with my ECU.
ie I am saying IF they can't repair the SKREEM we supply, they offer a replacement OEM one and keys.(which are in limited supply)

IF we accept this offer, they programme it to work with our supplied ECU

VERY good communication. I was kept up to date regularly via email and payment information was via a phone call and an Invoice supplied

Justin told me that MDP had purchased (a while ago) as many OEM SKREEMs as they could get their hands on but that numbers were reducing. (7 left)
After these were gone, they would be unable to offer replacement SKREEM

Update
I reinstalled the ECM and reprogrammed SKREEM and using the new key (supplied) the car started 1st time

Update
The car has been running fine for 2 weeks. We only use it weekends but 10+ starts with no issues
