Default Weeping rear main seal

Being new to the Crossfire it's my understanding, from another post, it's a common problem that the rear main seal weeps. Some say occasionally just wipe the trans down every once in a while. "But" when driving at hi-way speeds the oil is blown back on the exhaust and I have a burnt oil smell when I stop. That's the problem that I want to remedy rather than spend a lot of money to replace the seal at this time. It's not even leaving oil on my driveway.
Thinking outside the box with an idea. Hope I can explain this to where someone understand my idea. In the area where the oil leaks from the bellhousing I plan to make a sheet metal holder where a lady's sanitary napkin could be slid in and out regularly by a string. It would be screwed onto the bellhousing Ok now everyone can laugh at me! LoL

That is a good idea, just do not forget to change it periodically.

Uh oh! I think a fly just got into my ointment! What about when it rains and the streets are wet? The sanitary napkin would shurely get soaked with water. Maybe I should rethink this idea! Ha! Ha! Ha!

pull back the transmission and change out the rear main seal and seal the mounting plate. i have done it on my srt6, c32, ml320, ml320, ml500 and about to do it on my new 01 e55. do it right, or pay someone to do it, it will only get worse when neglected
