fuel smell in cabin

Default fuel smell in cabin

Hi All,

I filled my tank up with fuel to the max until it clicked a few times, i now notice a strong smell of fuel in the cabin, any ideas why this might be now? also i need to replace my fuel cap, part number is A220 470 07 05, iam based in UK

I remember someone telling me that the top of the fuel tank inside the bulkhead wall behind our seats has a fuel level sensor in the top of it and it has a gasket that leaked when he filled his fuel tank and topped it off
He had to get inside from the trunk to fix it
Ever since he told me this I NEVER put a penny more of gas in once the pump automatically shuts off
