hi all, i need a new full cap, based in the uk, i have found a company that can supply a after market cap but it states Vented Cap Type for a Tank that Requires Ventilation through a Breathing Cap, i thought the cap on crossfire was a non vented cap?

 

Crossfire ( and almost ALL modern cars ) are NON-vented.
Part of the emissions diagnostics that are automatically run pull a slight vacuum on the fuel tank.

Visit a Mercedes Benz dealership, show them your existing gas cap and they will sell you a new cap. These are the same as those found on a Mercedes Benz SLK (2000-2004) model. You could also visit a breaker yard that has a Crossfire or the SLK model mentioned in this response. Don't buy an aftermarket piece of crap!

thanks for reply, went to main dealer merc today and took my cap, couldn't find one the same, i will phone up another one and say i have a slk r170 and see what they come up with

Check EBAY UK Site, and insert 2004 Mercedes Benz SLK320 gas cap. I'm sure numerous listings will appear, they do on the EBAY USA Site. DO NOT buy a used one!
This should resolve your problem.....
