Default Hood latch

My hood latch won't lock the secondary latch. It's not an easy fix I took it out and that didn't help. Nothing simple. Yes I tried to go through the whole process a couple times too. Lubed it up also. Afraid we're going to have to replace the latch. Anyone have any idea how much that's going to cost?

If it is part number 0511413AA found on page 397 in the 2005 parts catalog here are some links to a new one not too bad on cost.

Saying it won’t work describes nothing, please describe the problem in better detail.
Does it not pop up when the cable is pulled inside the car?

Find the Mercedes part as it would be cheaper probably. A part from a wrecked car would be fine.
