Default Central locking system

Hi
I recently purchased a 2008 Crossfire roadster. When I lock or unlock the doors with the remote the central locking system pump will continue to run for about 8 to 10 seconds. The locks work as they should. Is this normal? Also, when I walk away from the car, the doors automatically lock without me pushing the lock button on the remote. Thanks in advance for any help.

My guess is you have a leak somewhere in the system. My coupe had a leak at the drivers door lock, I could hear it. It caused the locks to be a little slow to lock and unlock.

And the most common place for a leak on coupes is the hinge of the liftgate.

.

And, there may be a setting for the doors to automatically lock after a period of time so, download the owners manual from the forum to read about the door locking system. If it is because of the probable automatic locking, you'll see how to change it to your liking, or leave it be. Good luck!

Thanks, I appreciate your quick response. I suspect that I do have a leak. I don't hear anything. I just hope that I don't have to disassemble the car to find it. Thanks again.

The automatic locking is a safety feature and is normal. It is to protect you from forgetting to lock your doors. It is in the manual.

The auto locking only occurs if you unlock the car with the fob and then decide to not open the door, after a few seconds, maybe 20, the car will re-lock itself.
