Default DRBIII Crossfire Diagnostics Guide

I have The Daimler Chrysler Technicians Guide mentioned in the thread title. I scanned all pages in the jpeg format and the pages can be printed and assembled into a booklet. The photos could be turned into PDF files and arranged so that half of the pages could be printed one side and the stack turned over and the other side printed, all the pages would be in order for stapling together.\The photos could be printed and treated the same, but each page would have to be printed separately. Converting the photos to a PDF file would simplify the process if done properly, I have no idea how this is done though, any volunteers?
Here is the first page and the page to be printed on the rear of it, the ends and bottom need to be trimmed to size. The booklet would be less than the original size.
I think I could modify the photos to fill am 8 1/2' x 11' sheet of paper, the booklet would then be half the size of the original.

There is a website named archive.org where many scanned magazines and articles reside. This booklet would make a great addition there where folks could download and print the pages from their own printer. Most are set up as PDF files. Transforming your jpg scans into PDF's is not rocket science but its tricky to get results in a clean scan format without using a program like PhotoShop to color correct or brighten the scans and remove darkened areas. PhotoShop will also resize the scans and save them as PDF files. The individual pages of PDF files will need to be "Distilled" through a program such as Acrobat Distiller (the old way) to compile the pages into one PDF file of multiple pages. If I can help you, PM me.....Peace

I will have another try at copying them and see if I can get a cleaner copy as I do not feel like doing too much work ones each page to clean them up.
I have four scanners and I chose the easy way out. I will see if my dedicated Epsom scanner platen can take that size of paper, it is currently stored away and needs to be connected to my secondary computer.

I wonder how much we have spent on computers, my oldest is an original IBM PC with two floppy drives, complete with the correct screen and keyboard. I got it all second hand for less than $75 and it runs DOS 3.3, they cost a small fortune when they came out, it is built like a tank. I think I have had ten computers including the VIC 20, Commodore 64, 386 and a Dell pentium I got for my son. My son fixed computer problems at his public school as it took too long for the repair man to come from the School Board, he caught on before me.🙄 He still fixes my problems, PC or Mac.

My oldest computer is an altair (original home computer available).
I have fully functional trs 80 model 1's, 2's, 3's and 4's.

The model 2 aka Model II has 4 8inch floppy drives a daisywheel printer. My first hard drive was 5mb.

All of NCR's home/small business machines.
hp kit machines (those were fun back in the day)
Tons of pocket computers from the early 80's. Glorified calculators by todays standards but they do run basic at least.

Im lucky enough to be old enough that I have had and had access to computers since the beginning of it all home computer wise. Pretty decent museum worth of them even today. I get kids today wanting me to "teach" them but I cant explain to them why they cant learn all I did because everything was new as it came out back then. The most they can hope for now is just to learn whats out now. Today's techs know how to fix stuff but they dont know how any of it actually works

James, the older floppy drives all used a drive belt. Have you been able to rat hole some replacement belts for the various drives you have? It is a good thing all the other memory was either chip based (even the HDD's are now 'chip based') or regulated with integrated speed controllers to vary the disk speed in relation to its head(s). BTW, my earliest is a Commodore C128 with the '128K RAM expansion module' including a custom chip configuration manually inserted into the board sockets, a 5 1/4 (or was that a 5 1/2) floppy drive, Star NL-10 dot matrix printer, and of course the Commodore 17" color monitor. All books and such (including the Commodore wired mouse (no such thing as a wireless mouse in the mid 80's). All 'sealed' in an old Gateway 2000 box, possibly waiting to be donated to a museum someday.

If you need a belt or two, I have saved (somewhere) a website that has many different size belts for just about everything (I think they 'make' custom belts as well but not positive). Let me know and I'll look for the site.

The reason I wondered if the Diagnostics Guide was of much use as I wanted to start a thread in which members could explain what they had done with the Micropod clone dongle and how they had done it. We have a lot of smart members here and it would be a shame not to record their knowledge.
We have John and Terry’s TPMS and Nemiros posts and little else.
If the Micropod is that good we should maximize its uses to us lesser knowledgeable folks.

Yes, might be, but at least they would not be stretched, getting a replacement for that is a lot easier.

I have had lots of trouser belts over time, they never stretched an inch, in fact they shrunk and I had to keep replacing them.☹️

Dave,
Can you let us know where to locate the rest of the pages or are you in the process for converting them to PDF?

I think I can assist. Please send me an email when your free

I have the conversion to PDF now.
I did the first few pages no sweat and they are in the first file, printing odd numbers first and then flipping them and printing even numbers on the back of them, or vice versa is how it works
When I continued I missed a few backs and they are in the third file. I think you can piece it together and print a double sided page book or you can cut the pages in half and make a book with printing only on one face. The double pages are 11" x 17", cut in half they would be 11" x 8 1/2".
