Just wondering if non ethanol 89 will work in my 04,
hate ethanol but its this or 93 ethanol any advice?

 

Use whatever you want. There are enough threads here on what grade of gas to use, it's your car, do what you want to. ALL you are gonna get is opinions. And every opinion is worth the same as the next one: Nothing.

My worthless opinion:
Personally, I hate ethanol as well, and letting that crap sit in the system for five months a year is NOT something I'd do. Even with Stabil, I wont allow that. But I don't store my car, it runs year around so there is no grave concern, I run 91-93 with ethanol because the nearest 100% gas is almost 70 miles from me.

I never have, even once, put anything lower than 91 in my car or bike. HOWEVER, I DO believe that 100% gas for storage with 12-15 ounces of Sta-Bil, is a good idea.

 

I'm gonna try a tank, if performance suffers just go back to ethanol
I have and always will store all my vehicles with NON ethanol with sta bil as we are snowbirds
no matter what the octane rating
And NEVER...and I mean NEVER...run ethanol in your small engine (mowers pressure washers etc)
The one exception (except for storage) is my HD Electra Glide...a hi compression motor
it will tap and knock on anything except 93 octane
