Default SKREEM issue for UK owner

Hi, I’m based in Nottingham (UK) and have had eight years of happy motoring with my blue 2006 Crossfire Coupe. Last week I went to take it out for a spin and the engine turned over for a couple of seconds before stopping. This happened two more times and then there was nothing. There’s no life in the car apart from the cooler fan coming on. If I disconnect the battery and try again the same thing happens. At first, I thought it was an issue with the crank sensor, but after a bit more research it’s looking like the problem is that the key and security system are no longer communicating and I believe it’s called ‘SKREEM’. The car is inoperable and stuck on my drive. Does anyone know of a UK based business/person who offers the service to fit a new Ignition Immobilizer box to cure the problem? Or is even possible to get the Mercedes part? Seems a shame to have my Crossfire purely as an ornament for the drive! Any suggestions appreciated. Regards Richard ;-)

Wait. If the engine fan is coming on and RUNNING VERY FAST, Id accuse the RCM.

If you leave the key at "ON", how long does it take for the fan to come on? Is it turning REALLY FAST and REALLY LOUDLY after about 30 seconds?

Yep, very fast. There's an electronic beep and then the fan kicks in after about 15 seconds. I'll do some research on that. Thanks

That is a sign that the Fan Module is alive, but the ECU is not alive.
Perhaps the PDF below will help....

Notice the part about the "Low Coolant Light". If it is on, the FCM is not getting messages from the ECU.
If it is NOT on, the ECU may be insane.
